Hymn for the modern man
O Lord, I have made you a place in my heart
Around the bags, the boxes and the dirt.
There’s a pile of lies near the catbox, and a trunk of self-doubt near the fridge
A crate of unreasoning meanness, taller then you’d ever believe.
O Lord, I have made you a place in my heart
Now take a good look, and then leave.
